Dr. Michael Adams, son of Ansel Adams, and current “Western Exposure” exhibit at Museum of South Texas

On Thursday, January 23, 2014 I had the opportunity to meet Dr Michael Adams, an accomplished physician and pilot and notably the son of of Ansel Adams.  It was the opening reception for the Ansel Adams – Western Exposure, which will be on exhibit until May 4, 2014 (two days from now).  On Friday, January 24, 2014 he gave a presentation over the photographs and items within the current exhibit.  If you’re in the South Texas area, and even if you’re not, I encourage you to visit the Art Museum of South Texas.  My favorite section of the exhibit is in fact not the sweeping landscapes, but rather his portraiture, where images of his closest friends are on display including Alfred Stieglitz who said, “The artist has a right to work with dignity, thinking and doing as he desired.” I couldn’t agree more Mr. Stieglitz.

Unfortunately I couldn’t release these images until 90 days after their print date (February 2, 2014).  Well, what are you waiting for??  Hurry up, take a look at the images, and then make your way over to the museum!
