Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease – San Marcos, Texas – November 3, 2012

This past first weekend of November I shared with some close family members and walked in honor of my late grandfather Leopoldo Flores who passed away on September 10, 2010. He succumbed in part to Alzheimer’s Disease.  He is survived among others by the most beautiful, strong, nurturing, loving, (I can go on for days here!…) wife, and my grandmother Lilia R. Flores. Note her shirt has a picture of my grandfather around the time of his retirement from Naval Service at the age of 45 ish. She was the cheerleader welcoming those back from the 3 mile walk.

November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, learn more about the Alzheimer’s Association by visiting www.alz.org, and learn more about the San Marcos/Hays County walk here.
