365 Project – June 19, 2012 – Rainy Day – Home Series – Corpus Christi, Texas

This is part of my 365 project titled “Home Series,” where I delve into the concept of what it means to be home, the surroundings of home, and the concept of what we call home whether it’s physically, emotionally, or mentally.  Here we were visited by some rainstorms…. and the puddles of water and the sun’s reflection popping in and out of passing clouds caught my eye. Here are the results, which were all processed in camera – iPhone 4.

Home # 28- Rolling Rock “33″

Here is my first attempt with a real camera – in that I can actually manually control the photo settings – ie manual (time value, aperture, exposure bracketing) vs automatic (iphone). It’s also my first entry with a DSLR. I chose to do this entry in HDR format so that I wouldn’t lose the blue and yellow in the sign. The photo was taken at Dr. Rockit’s Bar in Corpus Christi, Texas.

My spin on the 365 project is simple in scope – what is home?

365 Project 2012 – Home #11 – Spinnin’

January 21, 2012 – Day 11

This is my first exploration into the “metaphorical” side of what is home? I love the arts – that’s where my heart lies – the old adage goes home is where your heart is… so my home is wherever I’m making art. This was a day of many firsts for me. I started the day trying out for the Aurora Arts community theater production of “Altar Boyz” where I’ll be singing, dancing, and acting. WOW! I’ve got a call back tomorrow at 6 PM. Then I tried out at the Loop Studio for a feature film titled “The Mexican Getaway” being produced in part by Mariella Perez of South Texas Underground Film – both crew said I did a good job – exciting to hear! Then I spun my first records – on a real set up – not that digital fake crap. Although it must be pointed out that I take digital photographs/video and not the real deal. Oh well!

And since ya’ll are following my blog I’ll just slideshow some of the other pics from that day…

365 Project 2012 – Home #9 – Walmart’s New Home

January 19, 2012 – Day 9

Walmart updated it's store in Flour Bluff, Texas. In fact it's one of many in the Corpus Christi, Texas Area. Here is a comparison of the old site with the new. It compares the new versus the dilapidated.

365 Project 2012 – Home #8 – Super “Boys”

January 18, 2012 – Day 8

“Everybody wants to be a Cowboy, featuring Troy Aikman, Walt Garrison, Randy White, Jay Novacek, Joe Avezzano, and Doc Swicegood.”
This post explores where the wonderful adventure of some Dallas Cowboy Greats fared, which now quietly rests – bolted to a wall of two urinals in a restroom of Wings and More, blankly staring back at those who wander in seeking relief.
An added note (pun intended), check out this song I discovered on spotify – titled “home again” by Michael Kiwanuka.  It’s pretty beautiful, which isn’t redundant.
