Order of the Sparkling City Mardi Gras Ball | Corpus Christi, Texas | February 9, 2013
The Order of the Sparkling City (http://www.orderofthesparklingcity.org) prepares an annual ball in order to raise funds for a local charity in support of women and children. The most recent years they’ve solely dedicated the funds to CASA of the Coastal Bend (http://coastalbendcasa.wordpress.com). Whose mission is “To speak up for and find permanent homes for foster children in crisis throughout Nueces, San Patricio, and Aransas Counties.”
We are pleased to announce that the 9th Annual Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball will be held at the Solomon Ortiz Center on Saturday, February 9, 2013, from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.
Our band for the 2013 Ball will be Latin Talk, and the popular John Garcia of Blue Moon Entertainment will be our DJ.
A program will be distributed recognizing all our wonderful sponsors for their support. We are asking for donations this year, which will be used for silent auction items and/or raffle prizes.
Over the last 4 years The Order of the Sparkling City has donated $ 44,000.00 to CASA. In addition, we were able to donate several thousand dollars more to other deserving organizations that provide support to women and children in need in the Coastal Bend.

My stand to help find a cure for MS!
Thanks for stopping by! This year I’ll be riding in my second MS 150. My first was the MS 150 from San Antonio to Corpus Christi, Texas. I miss those wonderful hills of Texas hill country and the non-stop winds of the Gulf Coast! But the ride from Houston to Austin will present a new challenge – one that is not nearly severe as those with Multiple Sclerosis can potentially face. Today, January 26, 2012, I’m making a pledge to raise money and awareness to help find a cure for MS.
I’ll be riding for Debra, Karen, and for KAS to name a few – I’ll have the honor to ride alongside KAS, a close friend who is living with MS. Any donation that you can make will help! At the very least please share with your friend’s on Facebook by posting the following link
This is also the link to my page if you are able to make a donation.
Thank you for your support!
Micah DeBenedetto
I’m getting back on the saddle to help raise awareness of the fight against Multiple sclerosis (MS)! MS is a debilitating disease which affects more than 400,000 people in the U.S. and over 2.1 million worldwide. My goal is to ride (excluding training) 180 miles between Houston and Austin, Texas on April 21-22, 2012, including a fundraising goal of $300 – who’s coming with me? Sign up here.
